South Valley Tours Cusco Half Day:
South Valley Cusco, it is at the South of the city of Cusco, on the way to the altiplano, there is this valley of impressive landscapes and memorable archaeological centers. The archaeological site of Tipón, Pikillacta pre-Inca archaeological remains, and the Sistine church of Andahuaylillas.
This journey begins by picking you up from your hotel around 08:30 am. Then we will go by bus to the south of Cusco, during this journey we will be able to observe beautiful landscapes of the Andean Serrania.
The first stop will be the archaeological center of Tipón, an Inka ceremonial center where the flow of water from the high peaks of the Pachatusan hill to the lowlands of the valley was controlled through a stone channel.
Later we will visit the Archaeological complex of Pikillaqta which literally means “city of fleas”. It is an old walled citadel of the Wari Empire, which was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari Culture in its expansion into the city of Cusco.
Finally we will conclude the journey by visiting the beautiful Church of Andahuaylillas, a small jewel of the Colonial period, also known as ‘The Sistine of America’, inside which is an impressive collection of Canvases with frames bathed in gold leaf and wall paintings, baroque altarpieces , and more. Also we can appreciate the famous Pentalingu gate.
We will be back in the city of Cusco at approximately 2:30 p.m.
